It had been a wild two days for the Salamanca football team. After severe weather alerts forced delays, an eventual postponement and yet another delay the following day, the Warriors were finally able to get through their season-opener against Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton. An affair in which they conquered both the elements and their opposition by a score of 38-14. Salamanca’s season could not have had a much better start.

"F/E and Salamanca might well come close again this year, but even the Warriors lost two regular-season games in a campaign that ended in the state final four, and Pioneer graduated a trio of Big 30 all-stars, including Player of the Year Dalton Giboo, and plays in the mighty Section 6 Class B ranks. Yes, both return veteran quarterbacks in Maddox Isaac and Gavin Schwab, respectively, and seem only to have reloaded for this season."

While they did not win the New York State Class C title, the journey of the #3 ranked Salamanca football team has been a memorable and emotional experience for its players.
