Johnson joining NY squad for Big 30 game
BRADFORD, Pa. — Nick Johnson will join two Salamanca senior classmates on the New York roster for the 45th Big 30 All-Star Charities Classic, set for Aug. 4 at Bradford High’s Parkway Field.
Johnson, along with Bolivar-Richburg right tackle/nose tackle Bradley Pacer, Wellsville guard/linebacker Logan Gough and Portville offensive lineman/defensive end Camron Kostadinov mark the sixth week additions to the New York roster.
Joining Pennsylvania’s roster are Ridgway running back/outside linebacker Aaron Hinton, Sheffield quarterback/safety Cale Albaugh, Bradford guard/defensive end Isaac Gralak and St. Marys center/defensive tackle/end Nick Anders.
Johnson joins Warriors teammates Braden Siebert and Leland John, already announced for the game.
A 5-foot-11, 150-pound wide receiver/cornerback, Johnson plans to attend college and major in business finance. Johnson made the second-team all-league at cornerback and was named most improved as a freshman in football. He also received an Excellence in History award and an Excellence in Technology award at SHS.
Johnson said he’s looking forward to following in his father’s footsteps playing in the Big 30 game and living up to his potential as an athlete. His most memorable moment in football was Salamanca’s comeback win over Watkins Glen on homecoming night. His hobbies include sports, camping and coaching. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Odell Beckham Jr.
