SCCSC: Vets Park Referendum Community Presentation
The Salamanca City Central School District will host seven (7) public meetings to discuss the Referendum Vote to enter into an inter-municipal sub lease with the Seneca Nation and the City of Salamanca until 2069.
On December 18, 2018 the Salamanca City Central School District residents will be voting on a “NO ADDITIONAL TAX IMPACT” project. This project will allow the District to sign a 50-year sublease of Veterans Park and purchase two properties adjacent to the Seneca Intermediate School.
In preparation for the Capital Project which will be put before the community in March 2019, the District will need to secure the sublease for Veterans Park and purchase the two adjoining properties on Fern Avenue. The concept of signing a sublease on Veterans Park is a product of the District’s collaboration with the Seneca Nation and the City of Salamanca and has unanimous support from both groups.
The Nation, City and District have been working together to create solutions to address the District and community’s current needs. The goal is to invest in the Veterans Park facilities and to improve our existing facilities to support our community in a fiscally responsible way.
