John switches commitment, lands at Baldwin Wallace University (Updated)
Salamanca Warrior, Ira John has announced he will attend Baldwin Wallace University in the fall, switching his previous commitment to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. John will become a dual-sport athlete playing football and lacrosse.
John, a running back/wide receiver/linebacker, was listed at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds. His athletic accomplishments include two-time team offensive MVP, two-time All-League at running back, Big 30 All-Star at linebacker, All-WNY Honorable Mention, High Honor Roll student and a two-time Scholar Athlete. He was named to the all-academic team and Warrior of the month (Salamanca Press).
BW holds the title for Most Wins in the OAC. In the 106-year history of football at the university, the Yellow Jackets have compiled an all-time record of 546–319–30. The 546 wins are the most of any current OAC member school. Baldwin Wallace's football team was coached by Lee Tressel, who led the team to an undefeated record in 1978, and subsequently the NCAA Division III Championship.
