Salamanca Youth Football Helps Raise Standards For Youth Leagues Nationwide

Committed to providing a better and safer youth football experience for athletes, parents and coaches league-wide, both youth Salamanca Football programs attained official league recognition from USA Football through its League Excellence Program for 2021. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is an official member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

As a recognized league within USA Football’s League Excellence Program, the Salamanca Warriors and Sabers adhere to some of the highest standards across all youth sports to deliver a fun, competitive and player-first environment. Attaining the designation begins with having all coaches certified through USA Football’s nationally accredited youth coach certification before taking the field this season.

The newly revamped and age-based coach certification includes:

· Health & Safety Courses with content from leading U.S. health organizations

· Coaching 101 Course, promoting whole-child development

· Football Development Model Age-Appropriate Modules

· Contact Courses in shoulder tackling, defeating blocks and blocking techniques

· Anti-Abuse Course created by National Center for Safety Initiatives

“It’s a true unified approach from both organizations with a focus on fundamentals and skill development. Our youth programs are extremely fortunate to work with great partners like USA Football,” Varsity Head Coach Chad Bartoszek said.

“The fun, fitness and social development kids gain through football combines the best of sport and health,” USA Football CEO & Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck said. “The moms, dads and volunteers who power Salamanca Football deserve recognition for the standards they uphold and everything they make possible for their kids. This is youth sports – football in particular – at its best.”
